Our School

Our mission is to provide young women an opportunity to achieve high school and college academic success simultaneously while nurturing self-confidence and developing leadership skills in an academically rigorous environment.

Inspired by a vision that all young women will have the opportunity to develop as leaders shaping their lives for success, Florence Crittenton Services of Arizona, Inc. spearheaded the "Crittenton Bill" legislation enabling us to launch GLAAZ, the first public all-girls school in Arizona. GLAAZ is a special place where young women are empowered to find their voices as leaders in their own lives, in their communities, and in the world.

Principal

My name is Chelsia Y. Stallworth, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Girl’s Leadership Academy of Arizona (GLAAZ).  It is with great enthusiasm that I step into this role, and I am eager to work collaboratively with you, our dedicated staff, and, most importantly, your remarkable daughters to continue fostering a nurturing and empowering educational environment.

I am originally from the Chicago area and love the Chicago Bears! I am a softball girl, who has been playing the sport most of my life. I attended Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi where I earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.  I also attended National-Louis University in Chicago, Illinois where I earned a master’s degree in curriculum & instruction, and a master’s degree in educational leadership & supervision. I am also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

Having spent 36 years in education, I have had the privilege of working in various capacities, including 17 years of teaching and 19 years in administration.  My commitment to academic excellence, character development, and community engagement will guide my leadership as we strive to provide an enriching experience for all our students at Girl’s Leadership Academy of Arizona. We pride ourselves on our strong sense of community, where every girl is encouraged to explore her interests, develop her talents, and grow into a confident leader. I believe that education extends beyond the classroom, and I am dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to achieve their best.

As we embark on this new school year, I am excited to implement new initiatives that promote positive programs that will focus on values, or goals you have in mind, such as academic rigor, social-emotional learning, or community service. I encourage open communication and collaboration between home and school, and I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming events.

Your feedback is invaluable, and I am here to support both you and your daughters in any way I can. Thank you for welcoming me into Girl’s Leadership Academy of Arizona.
